Cora's Playground Blocks

The McClenahans have opened up shop on Etsy.
They've sold out of most of their items,
but what is left are these precious blocks

These are handmade by Jess's brother Matthew.
Aren't they sweet?
You can get a set, or just one (each block has all 4 letters, the girl, and "Cora's Playground")

Support Cora's family, the playground fund, and
get something to remember how beautiful and short life is, in return.

UPDATE: They have now completely sold out! In less than 24 hours... So many people wanting to support them, it's amazing, and wonderful to see.  It just reminds you that there really are kind, good-hearted people around!

Pretty Shower Favors

For a bridal shower I hosted with the other bridesmaids this weekend, I found THIS idea.

Supplies needed:
-Tissue paper.
-Lace. (The lace used in the picture I found (see above) is much prettier, but I had limited time to find my supplies once I decided on this for the favors)
-Cord, ribbon or string
-small individually wrapped candy (I used a bag of Mini's Mix)
-clear treat bags
-Time.  (allow for plenty of it, as to not have your other hosts hidden away, wrapping final favors while guests are arriving)

Roll the wrapped candies up in small pieces of tissue paper, lay lace over top, pinch the ends and tie with cord, ribbon or string.

Cakes!

The first one was done by Friend Jessica, I helped in small ways.
Mixed things, put the icing on the cupcakes, cleaned up behind her, etc.

McKenzie's Birthday Cake
Yes, from her party that was more than a month ago :

There's a princess, a banner, and
a star wand (wands were sent out with the invites)
all made out of fondant by Jess.
I learned a lot by watching her (she's so talented!).

So, I attempted this cake for Erin's bridal shower yesterday,
I'll work up to more complicated things later...

David had to knead the fondant, cause it really does hurt my hands a lot.
Maybe I'm a wimp. ...whatever.

Good and productive day!

I got much accomplished today.
Which I'm really relieved about.

I finished all the thank you cards to send out to people who brought gifts
to Lil' Miss's birthday party.
Yes I was behind.
But i have good excuses, illness and moving.
Bad combo for getting anything accomplished.

I finished 5 new pieces for the shop.
Here's 1:

Hope to have them all posted in the shop by the end of the weekend.

And I'm finishing up on shower invites this evening.
My paper cutter and I are at odds, so it's been rough getting
those invites precise. But no fear, I'm making it happen.

And a bonus cap off to the day,
my hubby just told me that he won a contest at work,
and the prize is a flat screen tv.
I'm super excited. We've talked about buying one for ourselves for the past 2 christmases,
and now we get a pretty and free 40" delivered directly to our door next week.
Oh happy fun day.

Asking for prayer...

for a little baby girl and her parents.

If you know me, you know I'm an emotional person, who easily cares for people.
And I've been hit hard by the struggles of this family and this little girl.
My heart is truly aching for them...I'm in tears even as I type this.
I've never met them, and only know of them through Meg.

Cora is a 10 month old baby girl battling cancer
and I'm asking that you'll pray for her, and pray daily.

I can't even begin to know the heartache, the questions, and the immense struggle and pain her parents must be dealing with right now.

All I can do is pray...
and hold my baby girl tight and cherish our time together...
and then pray some more that Joel and Jessica will continue to get to do the same
with their baby girl for many many years to come.

You can find out more about Cora, her family and specific ways you can pray on her parent's blog, HERE.
